Our Mission
To stand beside the underprivileged with healthcare, education, food, and shelter, and to do so with the dignity of family rather than the distance of charity.
A registered charitable trust on the sacred banks of the Ganga, serving the underprivileged of Haridwar through healthcare, education, food, and spiritual upliftment since 1997.
That seva, selfless service to the destitute, is the highest form of worship a human life can offer.
Divya Prem Sewa Mission was registered as a charitable trust on 12 January 1997 in Haridwar, Uttarakhand. From a single rented room serving meals to wandering sadhus and the poor, it has grown over thirty years into a constellation of institutions: a free dispensary, a NAAC-accredited medical college, residential schools for orphan children, vocational training centres, mobile medical units, and one of the most respected community kitchens on the holy banks of the Ganga.
Every initiative carries the same thread, dignity for those whom society has forgotten. No queue is too long. No case is too small. No life is beyond compassion.
A clear mission keeps us honest. A vision pulls us forward. Values hold the work together.
To stand beside the underprivileged with healthcare, education, food, and shelter, and to do so with the dignity of family rather than the distance of charity.
A Bharat where no child is denied an education, no patient is turned away, and no elder is forgotten. Where seva flows as naturally as the Ganga herself.
Compassion above competence. Dignity above doctrine. Service above self. Sanatana sanskar in every act, modern excellence in every institution.
“We are not running a charity. We are simply doing what we were sent here to do, to love, to heal, and to serve.”
Known to the people of Haridwar simply as Bhaiya Ji, the founder of Divya Prem Sewa Mission walked away from a comfortable urban life in his youth to live among the poor he had set out to serve. For thirty years he has slept on the floor of the ashram, eaten from the community kitchen, and carried, quite literally, the weight of those society had forgotten.
In 2017, the Government of India honoured him with the Dr. Ashish Gautam Ji, the country’s fourth-highest civilian award, for his decades of selfless service. He attended the ceremony in his usual white kurta and walked back to the dharamshala the same evening to serve dinner.
Under his stewardship, a small dispensary became a hospital. A handful of orphan children became a school. A dream became a NAAC-accredited medical college. And the Mission became sanctuary for over five lakh lives.
