Vandematram Kunj
A second home for orphan children and underprivileged youth, hostels, schools, vocational training, and gardens, all under one extended family.
A campus that became a family.
Vandematram Kunj is the residential wing of Divya Prem Sewa Mission, a campus where children who have lost their families find one again. Today over 200 boys and girls live here. They wake to bhajans, study under masters, eat from the community kitchen, and sleep in dormitories that are loud with laughter.
The Kunj is not an institution. It is a home. It has its own school, its own playgrounds, its own gardens, and its own quiet temple. The older children mentor the younger. The girls and boys live in separate hostels but share every classroom, every meal, every festival. Many of our first batch are now doctors, teachers, and engineers, and several have returned to volunteer.
Where the campus
becomes a home.
Pradeep Vatika
The boys’ hostel, a sanctuary of routine, brotherhood, and study. Named in memory of a young volunteer who gave his life to the cause.
Ganga Vatika
The girls’ hostel, a safe and joyful environment where young women grow into confident, independent adults rooted in our values.
Divya Bharat Shiksha Mandir
The campus school, academic excellence woven with character, culture, and seva. Teachers live on campus and know every child by name.
Shobha Smriti Skill Centre
Vocational training in tailoring, computers, and trades, equipping older youth and women from neighbouring villages with self-reliance.
From sunrise bhajans to bedtime stories.
The day begins at five with the sound of conch shells. By six, the playground is alive. By seven, the dining hall smells of fresh chapati and chai. School from eight to two. Sports, music, and seva projects in the afternoon. Homework in the evening. Lights out at ten, but the laughter takes a little longer.
The rhythm of life at Vandematram Kunj is what makes it home. Festivals are celebrated together, Holi, Diwali, Raksha Bandhan, Janmashtami. Birthdays are remembered. Achievements are celebrated. Failures are held. It is the everyday consistency of love, not the grand gestures, that heals.
